Dr Bacalhau is certainly the most French of our Portuguese doctors! Having completed a large part of her schooling in France, she came to Portugal to complete her baccalaureate at the Lycée Français Charles Lepierre.
As a paediatrician, she takes care of children from birth to adolescence. In order to practice her profession, she must be flexible and available, listening to the parents while paying particular attention to the child, their reactions, and their behaviours.
In addition to her consultations, Silvia is a paediatric resuscitation trainer, is responsible for the students’ orientation, and is an author and co-author of several publications and communications published nationally and internationally.
