« Patients have the main role to play in their health, by adopting the right habits »

Dr. Mendes is a globetrotter, and this began at the age of 12 when she followed her parents to Macau until she came of age. Following her medical studies at the New School of Medicine in Lisbon, she spent two years in Guinea Bissau working for NGOs, followed by a year in Spain as an emergency doctor.

Today, she divides her time between consultations and emergency shifts, in Lisbon and the Azores, and occasionally returns to Africa for missions. She starts each day of the year with a yoga session and a sea bath.
