« Even a small gesture can make a big difference in a patient’s day. »
Sofia was born and raised in Barreiro, Portugal. Involved in scouting since the age of 17, she quickly developed a strong sense of community, teamwork, and a desire to contribute, in her own way, to making the world a better place.
Sofia particularly values the human contact in her work. She takes the time to chat with patients during sample collection to help them relax and make the experience more pleasant, especially for those who are anxious about needles or tests. Her goal is for every patient to leave the centre with a smile and feeling heard.
Passionate about lifelong learning, she plans to continue her studies with a Master’s in Forensic Sciences, a field that has fascinated her since childhood.
