Women’s Integrative and Functional Health is a medical approach that evaluates the body’s overall functioning to identify the factors that may influence health, wellbeing and quality of life. It is based on a holistic view of medicine, examining the interactions between the hormonal system, metabolism, thyroid function, digestive health, the immune system, nutrition, sleep, stress, physical activity and other factors that may affect the body’s overall balance.

This consultation supports women from puberty through menopause and beyond. Its aim is to better understand the mechanisms that may contribute to certain symptoms, assess the factors that may influence long-term health, and provide a personalised care plan designed to improve wellbeing, energy levels and quality of life over time.

When to consult?

Course of the visit

CLINICAL ASSESSMENT: The initial consultation lasts 75 minutes and provides a comprehensive assessment of your health. Your doctor will take the time to understand your medical history, current symptoms, personal and family medical history, ongoing treatments, lifestyle and health goals. Particular attention is given to the various factors that may influence your overall health, including nutrition, sleep, stress levels, physical activity, digestive health, metabolism, menstrual cycles, previous or current pregnancies, and the different stages of your hormonal health. This comprehensive approach helps build a clearer understanding of your health and guides a personalised management plan.

ADDITIONAL INVESTIGATIONS: Where clinically indicated, blood tests or other diagnostic investigations may be requested to clarify the diagnosis or guide treatment.

PERSONALISED CARE PLAN: Following your consultation, you will receive a personalised care plan summarising the assessment and the medical recommendations. Depending on your clinical situation and where appropriate, this plan may include recommendations regarding nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, medical treatment, hormone therapy, nutritional supplementation or the use of herbal medicine. Ongoing medical follow-up may also be recommended to monitor your progress, adjust your treatment plan where necessary, and support you in achieving your long-term health goals.
